Hi, Gals! (*^^*)♡ How was your week? Here I've been working super much. From Monday to Friday I'm working hard so we're trying to chill out and plan fun things to do together during the weekends. So the last one (actually a couple of weekends ago because I didn't have time to blog or post anything on SNS recently) we went to the mall and I was so excited! Christmas decorations has just started and I love to see all that.

Hi, gals! To change a little bit the topic here, I just want to share my new gets! These last days I was in need of some skin and hair care productos I coudn't bring here because I didn't have much left so I thought it would be better to just buy them here. And that's what I did!

Lately I've been really disciplined about my skincare routine and I've been looking to add some products for the black heads (or well sebaceous filaments) I have on my nose, so after a lot of research I found the BHA from Cosrx is really good for that. I also got a few other stuff like my regular moisturizer, a new cleanser for our mornings (cause I'm teaching Wes soup is not good for the face) and some liners we needed, specially now that I'm teaching him to improve his eyebrows. You know I'm an eyebrow junkie.

Hey, gals! As you may not, or maybe not (lol), last week I travelled to the Netherlands to stay with Wes for some months so I arrived just in time for Velvet’s Halloween Party! Yay! It was so fun and amazing to finally meet such a cool gals from the Netherlands and Germany. I hope I can keep meeting more during this stay.

Hi, gals! Reila here trying to catch up on my blog to see if I get my motivation back to create content. I feel like a have a huge pile of pendings I still need to do and I’m getting crazy. Lately I really didn’t want to write or edit anything (I haven’t even dressed up!) and that makes me really sad. But at least I’ve been going to the gym frequently and after training I’ve been practicing Para Para. I don’t feel Gyaru enough these last days, so I’m pushing myself to write a casual blog post at least. Please, bare today with me! ♡

Hey, gals! I still need to catch up on other blog posts I want to do and haven't any motivation to do it, but parenthesis to share this amazing photoshoot Wes and I had with a friend of mine, Nesu.

Hi, gals! Long time not here. Since the last Gyaru meme I’ve been super busy because I was planning my holidays and even if I thought I was going to be super free to post all i want, I’ve been so full of fun things to do that I was more focused on real life rather than social media.

Kogal date after school! 🎓

Last week I wanted to travel abroad to visit my babe, but sadly I still can’t because I don’t have my second vaccine yet, so at last minute he made the desicion to come and being here with me. Σ(T□T)♡ How wonderful!

That’s why this last week we’ve been doing A LOT of stuff together traveling through the coast, but this weekend we had a chiller day for a kogal photoshoot and a date! I won’t release the photoshoot yet, but here there are some of the casual photos we took during the date and night!

What a babe! (╯▽╰)
Hi, Gals! I'm happy to say we're starting this fun Gyaru 109 Month with a blogging challenge. Lately I've seen so many gals starting their oldschool blog that I really wanted to include some activities for bloggers too. Something chill and fun we can do at our own time if we're looking for inspiration and motivation to write. So today I'm starting with the:

✰ Gyaru 109 Meme! ✰

Name / Gyaru nickname and country:
I'm Reila and I'm from Peru. 💗

Since when are you gyaru?
I consider myself Gyaru since June 1st, 2013. That was the first Harajuku Fashion Walk we had here and the first time I put together a complete Gyaru look. Or that’s how I felt, now I would do it different of course haha.

How did you discover the style?
I've told this story before, but it was 13 years ago when a friend of mine recommened me an GAV movie and one of the actors was gyaruo. I was shocked because it was the first time I saw a J-Fashion style where having a tan skin was seen as cool. After that I searched more about him and discovered he stopped acting and became a MEN's EGG model. So thanks to that I eventually landed on the EGG and decided to learn about Gyaru. ♡(●´∀`●)

Hiroki Okada, Men's EGG West (2010)
Hi, gals! It's been quite some time of sharing a casual gal'slife blog post. Lately I've been working on more educational content and the Gyaru 109 Month coming, but finally a couple of days ago we had a national holiday so I went out with a friend to celebrate Shawol's 13 th Anniversary! Which also means 13 years of friendship for us. ♡ Shawol is the name of SHINee's fandom. ♡

Hi, gals! ♡ The last months have been pretty overwhelming in social media, the gal community (j-fashion comm in general let me say), me organizing the Gyaru 109 Month and personal / work life don't help at all, so I decided to have a moment of reflexion to rest my mind and take a break before keep going on. That's why today I want to share with you:

5 things I learned thanks to being Gyaru for many years

I've been Gyaru since 8 years ago, however I discovered the style 13 years ago and since then I decided that's what I wanted for me. However at that moment I wasn't in the ideal moment of my life to start in the style, so the firsts years I did my best researching, practicing my makeup and learning more about j-fashion communities, so I could start 100% once I could afford it and I was independent enough to freely take my own decisions. And looking back, waiting for the right moment to actually be gal was a great decision I made.

Since then I've been learning and growing a lot. Specially having now Gyaru as my lifestyle. That's why I want to share with you a few things I've learned during this journey so maybe you can have a smoother one.

1. Your mental health should always go first.

I know this is SUPER obvious, yet one of the most difficult things to achieve and I still work on that every day of my life.

Hi, gals!

Si quieren saber cómo hacer pedidos de marcas japonesas, aquí tengo una guía: How to buy Japanese brands (Updated)

Hi, gals! ♡ Last weekend was the Harajuku Fashion Walk México, an online event Harajuku Gang México has been organizing since the pandemix started because we J-Fashion communities can't have fashion walks since the pandemic started. It's actually the first time I joinin an event from this country so I was really excited to meet new people and learn about the community in México.

As Gyaru we're not really part of the Harajuku Fashion, becasuse meanwhile styles like Decora, Lolita o Visual Kei are concentrated on Takeshita Street (Harajuku/1-Chome), Gals are around Shibuya 109 (2-Chome). So we're not from the same family, but neighbors. 😂

The special guest of the event was Cybr.grl

Since the event was scheduled at 7 pm, that day I woke up not so early to finish my blog posts about the Gyaru Life. (I recommend you to read in case you didn't!) and around 5 pm I videocall with Kiwii and Thabasa to get ready together. This is one of the things I love the most about the Latinoamerican gal comm. More than a community, we're a group of close friends who always find the way to spend time and have fun together.

Chaossu! Part 2 of this blog post about the Gyaru life. In the first part I talked about my personal experience and how I live my Gyaru life, however this can be pretty much different from gal to gal, there are a lot of things that can be part of our lives as gals, so in this second part I'll talk about many other things that are more common to see in Japanese gals and/or I haven't done myself (yet?).
Read the previous post: Living a Gyaru Life pt. 1 ♡ How I live my Gyaru life?

1. Gyaru slang

There are a looot of words, some of them are really old like "agepoyo!" which is a expression of being super excited or "pagal" which is an incomplete not so good looking gal, could be considered the Gyaru equivalent of the "ita" for the Lolita comm (so not a nice word). And there are more modern slang like "gyau" which is a more modern a westernized way of gal (refered to current EGG models), "pien" which could be translated as "sob sob" and you use it when you're tearing about something happy or sad.

Kyun desu!
Hi, gals! The other day I watched some really cool videos on Tiktok from Kandi Zacc and Chris I REALLY recommend you to watch so I decided to make another response video to share my lifestyle as Gyaru. I think it's really cool how diverse Gyaru can be and how even if you can do a lot of different things, everything is Gyaru focused so in this post I'm going to talk about how's my Gyaru life and what other things you can do to also live a Gyaru life.

0. Beauty & Fashion

I put this as number zero because is the basic of the basics. Fashion and beauty (makeup, hair and nails) are the absolute musts in the style and how most of us start our Gyaru journey. However there's way more than that.

1. Gyaru music & dance

Eurobeat, Techno and Trance a huge among gals and many of them collect those CDs and DVDs. In my case I really like to listen to that music but also dancing ParaPara. I try to dance everyweek to make refilms (cover of ParaPara routines) and every time I can I join ParaPara projects in the Gyaru community or in the International ParaPara community. I also lead the 🌻ParaPara club🌻 in the 109 Discord. Sometimes we have meetings to dance together. I wish we could do it more often. ;;

ギャル♡ParaPara was a project I made at the beginning of this year.

2. Blogging

Blogging was a huge thing around 2008~2013. Most gals in Japan used to share their lives, makeup, codes, gets, and for brands that was the main way to share news with their audiences. Ameblo and Blogcrooz were the social media of the 2010s.

Blogging from their phones was really popular and that's where the use of super cute emojis for blogging comes from. So that's something I do because I really enjoy writing and sharing my Gyaru journey, as well as some educative information for baby gals.

I also follow blogs from other gals like Kieli, Amiman and Clairey & Amy (I'm a secretly big fan of them. Can you imagine having a gal twin? that would be so cool!). And if you want to follow Japanese gals old blogs, Natsumin has a huge masterlist.

Welcome to my face blogging after work!
I'm usually super tired at night but blogging keeps me awake because I enjoy it a lot. ;; <3
Hi, Gals! ♡ How's been your week? Here it's holidays for independence day so today and yesterday I rested a lot and went shopping with my parents. This independence day we also celebrated the announcement of the new president and all the ceremonies involved. I don't know how's that in other countries or families, here at home we're super into politics so we've been watching everything related. But today I won't talk about that, I'll pass to the fun stuff: Shopping spree!

Hi, gals! ♡ I've been wanting to do a hairstyles blog post since the one I did in the past with the inspiration I found in Larme magazine.

As you may know, I'm really bad at hairstyles so I just keep practising and trying to get better at it. I don't have much hair and it's really thin, so most Gyaru hairstyles are pretty complicated for me, and even more if I don't have extenssions. That's why I've been looking around for things that could work for this type for hair and ta-dah! Here you have another 5 easy himekaji hair styles! I'll leave here all the breakdowns of the looks as well.

Simple curls + red bow

Hi, gals! ♡ Some time ago I made a video about what Gyaru is and is not on Tiktok. This brought doubts and misconceptions about the style from people who don't know about Gyaru (clearly), but also from people who would love to start in Gyaru but don't know how or where to find reliable information because we know outsiders and Wikipedia are the worst sources, so I decided to do this blog post with  information for you to know what Gyaru actually is and to leave more resources from other gal veterans.

Disclaimer: If you're vegan or vegetarian, I recommend you to not read this post. :(

So last weekend was my father's birthday, which means a perfect day to go out in family and eat deliciously. My father loves bbqs and eating meat so we booked Osso, one of the best reastaurants in the city to take him there. And it was really good!

Hi, gals! ♡ Today I received my order from Tarte Cosmetics and since it's the first time I'm odering from them I'm super excited. That's why I decided to do a casual blog post with my ned gets. Have you ordered from there before?

I got 2 sets, 1 stick and got another set as a present. I'm surprised of how fast the package took to arrive because I made the other last week and today the post man called me to receive it. The only "bad" thing is that the delivery is expensive, a little but more than US$ 20, but considering is Express Shipping through DHL Express is perfectly fine. I was also afraid I would have to pay taxes for that, because here DHL Express has a US$ 10 tax for all orders but surprisinly I didn't have to pay anything extra.

Hi, gals! Today's just a casual blog post. ♡ I wasn't planning to post today but I suddenly had the opportunity to go out and from one moment to another I got super productive!

Today (or well, yesterday~) we had holidays in my country, I don't know why, some religious stuff nobody celebrates here but obviously all holidays are more than welcomed. So my plan was to stay at home, rest a lot (because I REALLY need to rest) and if I had enough energy, I wanted to create some content. But at the end I woke up super late and decided to do nothing... Until my mom wanted to go out so I suddendly had to dress up and do my makeup! Which obviously was the perfect excuse to make some tiktoks!

Hi, Gals! ♡ How are you doing? I hope you're having a wonderful week with the best energy! Today I'll be sharing the next magazine of my last haul: Happie Nuts Vol. 02! This edition is the second one since their re-release and brings all the trends for summer. So sad here is winter. 😪

Happie Nuts Vol. 02 - Summer 2021

Hi, gals! ♡ Week six of the Himekaji Coordinate Challenge already! This took me longer than I thought haha. Some weeks I was just feeling well, other I just forgot this existed. But here it is! The prompt for this week is:

Create a coordinate using colors you don't normally wear

The color I chose for this prompt was mauve, which surprisingly I have! I don't like weating cold colors in general so I don't have much clothes like that. Plus my wardrobe has a really specific color palette so after thinking for a while I remembered I have these pieces I don't regularly wear and they're both mauve!

Sweater: Ank Rouge
Cutie Cherry Pie Skirt: Ank Rouge
Shoes: Princess Melody

Funny thing I got that skirt because I'm collecting the Cutie Cherry Pie print but that color was definitely not one of my favorites.  But I also have the black version in a skirt and JSK which I love! And now that I've notice this color is not that bad I think I'll get the JSK in mauve as well because I found it casually not so long ago and it was pretty cheap.

The shoes are from Princess Melody (I swear I thoguth they were from Ank Rouge as well!), but at this point, sometimes I just can't tell which brand is each thing. I can tell by the print but more general items are really hard for me.

And the fuwa fuwa sweater is from Ank Rouge. I got it last year and showed them on the haul I posted on my Youtube channel but it wasn't until now I had the opportunity to wear it. I'm not a fan of the quality of that sweater to be honest.  Since it's brand I expected more but it's super synthetic so I have to be sure to wear it with a full cotton tee underneath. But well, it was extremely cheap so I can't complain.

And this was my makeup! Isn't it cute?   I've actually updated a little bit my makeup again. YES. I'm wearing the third pair of lenses I got from AliExpress and I just noticed they're really similar to the Candy Magic 1-day I got before and I'm so happy! Because I only have 1 pair left of those.   I've also changed my lower lashes and I toned down the shadows. I think these way my makeup looks more polished and that's good.

I made this look with Yaya. We got together last weekend to dress up and share some drinks and it was so fun! 🍻 I just adore her. I recommend you to check her looks. She's the best!

And that was it for today. Hope you liked the code and during this week I'll be sharing the rest of the magazines I got. I already scanned the last Happie Nuts! Yay!  I also have to do a couple of CLs reviews. Jiji.
